Jane A. (Tenquist) Christopherson
Jane Christopherson, 72, of Victoria, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009. She was preceded in death by husband, Hubert L. (Chris) Christopherson; parents, Edwin and Amy Tenquist; brother, Wayne Tenquist’ son-in-law, Lynn Johnson.
Survived by daughters, Debbie Johnson (special friend Matt Bloom), Cindy (Mike) Schmieg, Audrey (Eric) Nelson, Barb (Bob) Williams; son, Keith (Lisa) Christopherson; grandchildren, Jessica Williams (fiancée Andrew Marjala), Casandra Williams, Adam Nelson, Alana Nelson, Corinn Schmieg, Jeremy Revere, James (Irene) Revere, Sara Revere, John Revere; great-granddaugher, Ashlyn Revere; brothers, Walt (JoAnne) Tenquist, Dave (Jean) Tenquist, Dean (Nancy Voss) Tenquist.
Jane was born in Hinckley, Minn. She volunteered many hours with Moravian Care Ministries at Auburn Village, Chaska. She was employed by C.H. Robinson Co. and Orrin Thompson Homes prior to retiring in 1996.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at Faith Lutheran Church, Waconia, with family visitation one hour prior to the service. The family requests that memorial gifts be directed to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Michael Peter Sobraske
Michael Sobraske, 57, of Carver, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in St Louis Park.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, July 8, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. Father Paul Jarvis was the celebrant. Casketbearers were Matthew Sobraske, Mark Sobraske, Jim Sobraske, Joel Klemp, Kyle Redman, Al Hipps and Craig Hillerns. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association. Interment is at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Carver.
Mike was born May 8, 1952 in Minneapolis to Norman and Isabel (Slowey) Sobraske. He was one of three children. On Oct. 17, 1975, Mike married Darcee Hillerns at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Crystal, Minn. They had two children.
Mike was a landscape contractor for over 30 years and owned and operated Gardeneer Inc. Most of all he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather!
His mother, Isabel, preceded him in death.
Devoted Christian, dedicated husband, father and grandfather to wife Darcee of 33 years; daughter, Carrie Hunt and husband Andrew of Shakopee; son, Matthew and wife Katherine of Santa Barbara, Calif.; father, Norman of New Hope; grandchildren, Leland and Isabella Hunt,; brothers, Mark and wife Donna of Maple Grove, Jim and wife Vicki of Crystal; brother-in-law, Craig Hillerns and wife Jan of Plymouth; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Lynn Stephens-Headley
Lynn Stephens-Headley, of Richmond, Va. and formerly of Shakopee, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 25, 2009.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Gordon Headley, and survived by her loving children, Laura (Dr. Shah Khoshbin), of Cambridge, Mass., Stephen Swannie of Shakopee, Amy (Tom) Gestach of Carver, Robert (Joanna) Swannie of Ansonia, Conn. (Caregivers extroardinaire!), Ward (Patti) Swannie of Longmeadow, Mass.; world’s most loved and devoted grandchildren, Amy Khoshbin, Katie, Nick, and Emily Gestach, Sunny Makwana, Stephen and Shannon Swannie, Lillian and Helen Swannie; sister, Judy (John) Williams of DeBary, Fla.; brother, Tim (Joan) Stephens, of Enumenclaw, Wash.
Mom will be remembered most for her love of geneology, reading and politics. She was MSNBC's biggest fan! Her memorial service will be held July 11 at the Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwhich, Conn. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family or donor’s choice.
Thomas Charles Jensen
Thomas Jensen, 82, of Chaska, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Minnesota Veteran’s Home, Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 218 West 2nd Street, Chaska, with Father Paul Jarvis and Father Conran Schneider OFM con-celebrating. The visitation was held Wednesday, July 8, from 4-8 with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Bertas Funeral Home, Chaska. Casketbearers will be Steven Jensen, Corey Jensen, Charles Vogel, Phillip Rief, Peter Brose, and Barb Jensen. Honorary casketbearers will be Philip Fritz and Edward Brose. Burial will be at Guardian Angels Catholic Cemetery, Chaska.
Tom was born Aug. 26, 1926 in Minneapolis, to Ole and Anna (Zoll) Jensen, one of two children. He was baptized at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Minneapolis, and confirmed at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Chaska. Tom served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. On Sept. 8, 1948 Tom married Arlene Mather at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Shakopee. They had six children. He was the owner of Gambles in Chaska from 1957-1969, a hardware store that his father opened in 1933. He was an arson investigator for the Minnesota State Fire Marshal Division from 1969-1988; a 23-year member of the Chaska Volunteer Department, and a life-long member of the Chaska American Legion and V.F.W. He also was a member of the Chaska Knights of Columbus and delivered meals on wheels to Chaska residents.
Tom was preceded in death by his son, Charles, and his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Arlene; children, Kathleen Vogel, Nancy (Craig) Hamm, Barbara Jensen, James (Sirkku) Jensen, and Kenneth Jensen; eight grandchildren, Charles, Julie, Beth, Maggie, Steven, Corey, Joe, David; great-granddaughter, Lexie; sister, Jane (Dale) Rief; many nieces and nephews.

Jack L. Hendrickson
Jack Hendrickson, 66, of Carver, died Saturday, June 27, 2009.
Funeral service was Thursday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Chaska. Visitation was Wednesday, July 1, from 4-8 p.m. at Huber Funeral Home, Excelsior. Visitation was also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Mary Lee Bates
Mary Lee Bates, 63, of Chaska, died Monday July 6, 2009 at her home.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Mary was born Sept. 27, 1945 to Joseph and Leora (Fast) McAndrew.
Survivors include her son, AJ Bates, and his wife Heike of Chaska and their children, Brittany, AJ II and Ashley; daughter, Kara Miller and husband Brian of Hudson, Wis. and their children, Alex and Erin.
