Carver County Sheriff Byron ‘Bud’ Olson announced Thursday
afternoon that Andrew Navales, a 35-year-old who had been reported
missing in the city of Watertown has been located. Navales walked away from a medical clinic in Watertown on Wednesday at about 4:30 p.m.. He was located by members of the Sheriff’s Office Posse shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday. Sheriff
Olson said “Andrew saw Sheriff’s Posse members on their horses in a
grain field north of Watertown so he approached them and identified
himself. He indicated he had seen and heard searchers
calling and looking for him the previous evening but was afraid he was
in trouble so he avoided the searchers.” He appeared to be in good condition but was transported to a hospital for a routine check since he had been outside all night. “We are very relieved to have found Andrew and to know he is safe” said Sheriff Olson. "And
we are very appreciative for all the assistance from our public and
private partners and the volunteers who assisted us in the seach for
Andrew.”
