Harold and Maryann Welter are celebrating their 50th anniversary with an open house.

The event is 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.,Sunday, May 23 at the Belle Plaine Vets Club, 221 North Meridian Street in Belle Plaine.

Maryann Welter grew up in the Chaska area. “Your presence alone
at the celebration will be gift enough, thank you,” states the notice.

Victoria's Hwy. 5 is on list

This bridge on Highway 5 in Victoria has been flagged as one of 35 state and federal bridges in Minnesota that were ranked about the same or worse than the I-35W bridge that collapsed last week.
